Greetings in the name of
our Lord! I have wonderful news to
share with you. In mid-November the
Secretariats of both the Canton Cursillo Center and the Youngstown
Cursillo
Center voted to merge our centers together to create one single
Diocesan Cursillo
Movement. I am very pleased that we are
now able to
combine our efforts for Christ as one unified organization. This
is
something that our National Cursillo leadership had encouraged us to do
for
some time. Usually within a diocese, there is one Cursillo Center
per
language. (English speaking, Spanish speaking, etc.) I am
confident
that together we will be stronger and can use our combined
experience to
evangelize for Christ. As we move forward, let
us do our very best to make our Canton
brothers and sisters welcome. In the next few months, we will be
scheduling dates for meetings and events designed to bring us
closer
together. Christmas parties in both Canton and Youngstown are
already in
the works.. There has been some discussion about dinners, Grand
Ultreyas,
and some combined School of Leaders meetings. From this point on,
we will
no longer be the Canton
Center
or the Youngstown Center... we will all be working together. So as to include as many
Cursillistas as possible, there may be
some meetings that will be held in venues different than we've had them
before. There may be a few bumps along the road as we work to
accomplish
the merger, so we ask your patience as we proceed. Please
remember that
this movement doesn't belong to one city or another... this is Christ's
movement...
and we are ALL working for him. During the next few
months, we intend to expand our current
communications to include all Canton Cursillistas. To do this, we
will
need to add phone, email and home addresses to our data base so
that notifications of meetings, Bible Vigils and other important
news can
be shared. Please pray for our
Cursillo movement as we move
forward. Remember those potential candidates that are
leaders
in their environments. Pray and talk to God about them
before
talking to them about God.... then Make a friend... be a
friend... and
bring that friend to Christ. Consider sponsoring that person to a
Cursillo
weekend. The Lord has truly
blessed us. I'm very excited for the
potential we now have, and we should be aware that to whom much has
been given,
much is expected. Let work together to achieve all that we can
for
Christ. May God bless you for
all that you do in His service. DeColores, Lay Director Cursillo Movement of the Diocese of Youngstown |
