![]() He worked in auto upholstery for 47 years before his retirement. He was employed with the Rayco Seat Covers Inc. for 17 years, and worked for the Second Harvest Food Bank. His talent afforded him to own his own businesses, Paul’s Custom Upholstery in Struthers, and A to Z Upholstery in Boardman. He worked for many companies over the years, including Johnson Upholstery of Struthers, A to Z Upholstery in Boardman, and Cyclone Seat Covers, until his illness in 1999. He was very active in the Cursillo movement and was a former member and Eucharistic Minister at St. Nicholas Church in Struthers for more than 20 years. Paul volunteered for the American Cancer Society and had shared his story and the dangers of smoking to more than 6,000 students at various area grade and high schools. The children all knew him as “Uncle Paul.” He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 13586 of St. Dominic Church and received his 4th degree. His wife, the former Ethel Edwards, whom he married Oct. 23, 1976, preceded him in death on Jan. 9, 1999. He is survived by a sister, Frances Garrett; two stepsons, Donald and Bob Kwiecinski; two stepdaughters, Noreen Frank and Lynn Bilon; and several loving nieces, nephews, step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. Besides wife, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Margaret Borodsky, Jean Yavorsky, Helen Egley, and Mary Camron; and five brothers, Vince, Charles, Joseph, Bob, and Jack Tomalka. He was buried at Lake Park Cemetery. Memorial contribution may be made in his name to the Youngstown Cursillo, Immaculate Conception Church, or the St. Vincent de Paul Society. |
